Car Crash

The other day I crashed my car in one of those typical accidents that we all have suffered or will suffer in some point in time of our lives on these metropolitan roads - or any road for that matter. Where a series of vehicles would bang into each other one after other like in those car crash rides that you get in the amusement parks. Only thing is that its not that much of a fun here as it is there since you have to go through the torture of insurance claims and bail out some hefty money. Anyways. This Incident, however, brings me to ask a few questions that I always wanted to ask to people and get some feedback on it. Since I am trying to put up this new site and had to have a blog topic, I thought that this might well be a good chance to pose these. I would welcome comments that can kind of explain the phenomenon that these queries are an offshoot of. Why is it that we can never follow the rules of traffic? Why can’t we stop at red signals and even if some of us do, we invariably cannot resist the temptation of reaching to the farthest point possible beyond the stop line? Why do we swing between the lanes and why can we not have the courtesy of not honking when we know its a traffic jam and the person before us has no other option unless he/she has a flying gear equipped. Please help me out in understanding this. Why? What makes us so restless? Why is it so difficult for us to discipline ourselves? Are we too smart to be tied by any rules and regulations? or are we simply not intelligent enough to understand the positivity of abiding by a system for a common good. The other day I stopped behind the stop-line on red signal and the guy behind me got out of his car walked up to me and actually got mad on me for doing so. His argument, and I am quoting him -  “will you be the only guy to follow the rules on roads?” Can somebody, please, explain this to me?
